Pile Walls

Continuous steel pile retaining walls are the solution of choice for very hard soils or rock, where the driving of sheet piles is not possible. PalPile can supply the piles for these type of walls. An added advantage of these walls is that besides there retaining function, they function as foundation piles as well and can take heavy vertical loads.

The piles consist of steel piles with welded-on steel interlocks.  They are usually installed with a DTH (Down the Hole) drilling hammer The most commonly used dimensions are Ø 219,1 mm up to Ø 406,4 mm. Larger pile dimensions are available on request. The piles are available in steel grades S355 J2H and S460 MH. The grade S500 available upon request. Dimensions and tolerances are in accordance with EN10219-2. The male-female interlocks are available in S355 and S430 and stocked in lengths of 12,0 m. An injection channel in the female interlock is optional. The standard distance between the piles is 64 mm, but interlocks allowing a 50 mm, 88 mm and 100 mm distance are available upon request.

The interlock welding is performed by automated welding equipment in accordance with EN1090 EXC2 and EXC3. Welding ring bits to the bottom of the piles is optional.
